What's Included in HLTAID012
HLTAID012 is a bundle course. When you complete it, your Statement of Attainment includes four units:
- HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting
- HLTAID011 Provide First Aid
- HLTAID010 Provide Basic Emergency Life Support
- HLTAID009 Provide CPR

If you have already completed our First Aid course, this childcare-specific course builds on those same skills with content tailored to working with children. There is no need to repeat a separate CPR or First Aid course beforehand, HLTAID012 covers all of it in one session.

No. HLTAID011 Provide First Aid is a general first aid course. HLTAID012 builds on this with content specific to working with children and infants in an education or care setting, and includes HLTAID011 as part of the bundle.
Yes. Under the Education and Care Services National Regulations, childcare services must have staff with approved first aid, anaphylaxis, and asthma management training. HLTAID012 is designed to meet this requirement.
HLTAID012, HLTAID011, and HLTAID010 are generally valid for 3 years, while the CPR component (HLTAID009) is recommended for renewal every 12 months.
HLTAID012 Provide First Aid in an Education and Care Setting is the nationally recognised unit recognised under ACECQA requirements and the Education and Care Services National Law.
